The American Royal is excited to host the world’s largest Kids Que competition during the World Series of Barbecue and bring together the best junior pitmasters to show off their BBQ skills!

- Kids Que is limited to 80 Contestants
- Registration is first-come first serve- Register Early!

Kids Que Schedule: Saturday, October 3, 2026
- 1:30 p.m. – Check-in
- 2:00 p.m. – Cooks Meeting
- Meat and boxes will be handed out at this time.
- Grills and charcoal will be provided.
- 2:15 p.m. – Start grills and begin cooking
- 3:15 p.m. – Turn-in for ages 6-10 (Hamburger Meat)
- 3:45 p.m. – Turn-in for ages 11-15 (Steak)
- 7:00 p.m. – Awards Ceremony
- Included in the Invitational Awards Ceremony
Kids Que Age Divisions
- Ages 6-10: Hamburgers
- Ages 11-15: Steak
Kids Que Prize Money (in each age division)
- 1st Place: $125
- 2nd Place: $100
- 3rd Place: $60
- $1000 scholarship for winner of 11-15 age group
