
This fall, the American Royal will offer three specific program days for high school agriculture and animal science students throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area to attend. These days will feature opportunities for high school students to learn from those who live and breathe animal science. Students will have the chance to explore and network within the livestock, equine, and general animal science industries! Below are the dates for students to attend. Join us for an exciting opportunity to explore the rich history and bright future of the American Royal as we prepare for our new home! Experience the American Royal by taking a guided tour to learn about our deep-rooted history, the historic Kansas City Stockyards, and how the American Royal became a national leader in food and agriculture. Engage with Animal Science Professionals by hearing from industry experts in a panel discussion. This is a unique chance to ask questions, gain insights, and learn firsthand about the academic and career paths in animal science.

Attend the American Royal Livestock Show! This month’s program will allow students to have the opportunity to hear from Zoetis Global Animal Health and veterinary science students from Kansas State University and the University of Missouri. These presentations will further explore careers in animal science and allow participants to ask questions first-hand of students who are currently studying to become veterinarians. After, students will tour the barns to interact with livestock exhibitors and meet some cattle that will be hitting the showring later in the week.

Watch and discover the beauty of the American Saddlebred at the American Royal UPHA National Championships. This show will feature the best of the best riders and horses of the American Saddlebred breed. Learn more about horse shows, careers in the equine industry, and more about the breed from staff and volunteers from the American Saddlebred Association. These individuals will be experienced trainers and, in the past, have had national champions set aside time to visit with students.
