The purpose of the American Royal Interview Contest is to prepare youth exhibitors for their future careers. In the preliminary round, individuals will develop a resume and cover letter that includes factual and relevant information about their work, experiences, education, etc. that they can use for their future endeavors. Only the top applicants will advance to the interview portion of the contest, where they will complete a mock interview related to their selected position.
The purpose of the American Royal Ag Sales Contest is to develop knowledge about agricultural products and how to drive sales within the agriculture industry. This contest can assist participants with developing interactive communication skills to build rapport with others and discuss products in detail to highlight their benefits. This contest will allow participants to gain knowledge about agricultural businesses and their products while providing them skills to pursue a career in marketing and sales.
The purpose of the American Royal Marketing Contest is to encourage Youth Exhibitors to learn social media management, business representation, and interpersonal communication skills. These skills can assist them with understanding social media campaigns, creating a brand for a company, and setting them up for careers in marketing and communications. This contest also provides participants the opportunity to promote the American Royal Livestock Show and educate the public.
The purpose of the American Royal Livestock Photography Contest is to encourage Youth Exhibitors to improve their creativity and photography skills. These skills can set them up for careers in marketing and communications or act as a promotional tool for telling the story of food and agriculture to the public.

The American Royal Association presents the Premier Junior Exhibitor Award to recognize exhibitors’ success in the showring, but also the importance of educational contests and the skill development they offer participants. The Premier Junior Exhibitor Award is a points system based on exhibitors’ class and showmanship placings, as well as their placings in the Livestock Competitive Educational Contests. A Premier Junior Exhibitor will be recognized from the Sheep, Swine, Goat, and Cattle divisions.
Contestants must be a Youth Exhibitor at the 2025 American Royal Fall Livestock Show and exhibit between October 16th, 2025, and October 18th, 2025. No outside entries will be accepted. No purebred breeding cattle exhibitors will be eligible to participate. Contestants exhibiting market lambs, wether dams, market goats, breeding does, market barrows, breeding gilts, market steers, and steer mommas will be eligible to participate.
