American Royal to Celebrate 125th Anniversary With Proclamation Reading Ceremony

What: The American Royal began in October 1899 as the first-ever exhibition and sale of purebred cattle. Fast-forward 125 years, and the American Royal still hosts one of the nation’s largest livestock shows each October.
This week, the American Royal invites the media to attend its 125th Anniversary celebration and proclamation reading ceremony. Kansas Secretary of Agriculture Mike Beam will formally read the Kansas governmental proclamation declaring October as American Royal Month, and American Royal representatives will briefly share about the organization’s history.
When: The event will start at 8 a.m. on Friday, October 25 at the beginning of the day’s cattle shows in Hale Area. Exhibitors, partners and friends of the American Royal are welcome to attend the ceremonial event. Area elementary students will also be arriving Friday morning for the American Royal Fall Field Trip.
