KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 5, 2026) – The American Royal has unveiled the top ten finalists vying for a position in the 2026 Barbecue Hall of Fame®. These individuals were selected for their significant contributions to the barbecue community and their role in preserving barbecue’s heritage.

• Phillip McClard, Hot Springs, Ark.
• Roger Mooking, Ontario, Canada
• Esaul Ramos, San Antonio, Texas
• Malcom Reed, Hernando, Miss.

The American Royal Barbecue Hall of Fame, dedicated to recognizing, documenting and preserving the heritage of barbecue, received nominations from around the world and narrowed the field to 10 candidates for consideration. Four of the 10 finalists will be selected for induction into the Barbecue Hall of Fame, a top honor within the barbecue community. The inductees will be announced on May 28, along with three legacy inductees who made a lasting impact on the world of barbecue during their lifetimes.

The 2026 inductees will be recognized in a black apron ceremony during the 46th World Series of Barbecue® planned for September 30-October 4, 2026, at the American Royal’s new home in Kansas City, Kansas.
