Youth compete in the American Royal Pedigreed Gilt Show

KANSAS CITY–Junior swine exhibitors gathered in Kansas City, Mo., to compete for top honors in the American Royal Pedigreed Gilt Show. The judge, Mark Peter of Mendon, Ill., sorted the entries on Saturday, Oct. 26. Peyton Hill, of Nevada, Texas, exhibited the Champion Pedigreed Gilt, born April 2. The gilt was first named Champion Spot Gilt. Reserve champion honors went to Cole Moeller of West Point, Iowa, with his Champion Yorkshire Gilt born on February 7.

The Champion Berkshire Gilt, exhibited by Logan Tacker of Claremore, Okla., was born April 10. Jacob Berry of Roachdale, Ind., exhibited the Reserve Champion Berkshire Gilt, born March 1.

The Champion Chester Gilt was exhibited by Blake Danner of Chalmers. Ind., and was born April 16. Reserve champion honors went to Ivan McDonald of Evansville, Ind., with his gilt born April 3.

Tyler Wellman of West Point, Iowa, drove the Champion Duroc Gilt, born on April 6. The Reserve champion honors went to Elizabeth Hodges of Lebo, Kan., with her gilt born February 14.

Jaydyn Wehmer of Poseyville, Ind., exhibited the Champion Hampshire Gilt, born on March 1. Claiming the Reserve Champion Hampshire Gilt title was Drake Jehle of Durant, Iowa, with a gilt born on April 9.

The Champion Landrace Gilt was exhibited by Maddie Fugate of Mahomet, Ill. Reserve champion honors went to Khyleigh North of Wolcottville, Ind.

Joshua Horton of Jonesboro, Texas, drove the Champion Poland Gilt. The gilt was born on April 10. Horton also drove the Reserve Champion Poland Gilt, born on April 10 as well.

Trace Mulligan of Scott, Kan., drove the Reserve Champion Spot Gilt which was born on February 4.

Tyler Wellman of West Point, Iowa, exhibited the Reserve Champion Yorkshire Gilt, born April 10.
