Maine-Anjou youth exhibitors vie for top honors at American Royal

KANSAS CITY—On Nov. 1, Charlie Peters of Bellevue, Iowa, evaluted the junior Maine-Anjou and MaineTainer shows at the American Royal in Kansas City, Mo.

MaineTainer Junior Show Results

The Grand Champion MaineTainer Female was BPF Shelby 542Z. She’s a Feb. 23, 2012 heifer owned by Lauren Prill of Wichita, Kan. She was first named Junior Heifer Champion. The Reserve Champion MaineTainer Female, PHY 1Z, owned by Cade Van Vliet of Otley, Iowa.

The Junior Calf Champion was CHAM Miss Tippy, a March 16, 2013 daughter of GOET I-80, shown by Becca Chamberlin of Winchester, Ind.

Miranda Raithel of Falls City, Neb., exhibited the Senior Calf Champion Female, WCC Panorama 12Z. She’s a Nov. 2, 2012 heifer. MWDD Holly 201Z, owned by Kyle Hiebert of Ringwood, Okla., claimed Reserve Senior Calf Champion honors. She was born on Sept. 12, 2012.

JLL Honey Boo Boo was named Reserve Summer Calf Champion, and was exhibited by Vada Vickland of Longmont, Colo. Her heifer was born on May 2, 2012.

CMCC Zenda 285, an April 2, 2012 heifer owned by Cade Van Vliet, claimed the Reserve Junior Heifer Champion title.

Maine-Anjou Junior Show Results

The Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female, LFCCBNWZ LadyK Maggie 2Z, was exhibited by Brandon Oliver of Harper, Kan. She’s a March 5, 2012 heifer that was first named Champion Junior Yearling. Reserve Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female honors went to the Reserve Junior Yearling Champion Female, BAY Hazel 89Z, exhibited by Cole Clanton of Bucyrus, Kan. She was born on Feb. 9, 2012.

The Junior Calf Champion was Miss Maine Aim Sue 36A exhibited by Cody Duhaime (McCullough) of Allerton, Iowa. Reserve Junior Calf Champion honors went to Trace Alexander of Brookfield, Mo., with WAC Mystic 160A, a March 5, 2013 daughter of TLM Honor 024X.

RGCC Sweetness 99Z was named Summer Calf Champion. This May 12, 2012 heifer was shown by Jaden Riley of Marshall, Mo. Xciting Delivery, a July 28, 2012 heifer exhibited by Hailey Henry of Lequire, Okla., was awarded Reserve Summer Calf Champion.
