KANSAS CITY—Champions were named in the American Royal Salers Show on Saturday, Oct. 26. Chris Sankey of Council Grove, Kan., evaluated the 62 head of Salers and Optimizers.

OPTIMIZER HEIFER SHOW

The Grand Champion Optimizer Female was awarded to DJF Zsa Zsa 287Z, owned by Silver Spur Salers of Maryville, Mo. She is a February 2012 daughter of DJF Xclusive 498X. Reserve Champion Female was awarded to GGT Reason 176A, owned by GG&T Land and Cattle Company of Quinter, Kan. She is a January 2013 daughter of Soo Line Motive 9016.

OPTIMIZER BULL SHOW

GGT End Run 85A claimed Grand Champion Optimizer Bull for his owners GG&T Land and Cattle Company. He is a January 2013 son of GGT End Run 240X. M&M Trooper was awarded Reserve Champion Optimizer Bull for M&M Stock Farm of Earling, Iowa. He is a March 2013 son of M&M Apollo.

SALERS HEIFER SHOW

Jase Beltz of Galva, Kan., led JCGC Zimba 219Z to Grand Champion Salers Female honors. She is a February 2012 daughter of JCGC XL 029X and first won Senior Champion Female. Reserve Champion Salers Female and Reserve Senior Champion Female went to SCC Yes M’am 312Y, a November 2011 daughter of MAC Wyndham 54W. She is owned by Morgan Leeann Street of Cave City, Ark.

GGT P BK Rock On 259Z ­­claimed Grand Champion Salers Bull for Larry and Linda Wright of Isabella, Okla., and GG&T Land and Cattle Company. He is a January 2012 son of GGT P BLK Heavy Hitter and first won Junior Champion Bull. Reserve Champion Salers Bull and Reserve Junior Champion Bull were awarded to AVS Western Star 714Z, owned by Diamond J Farms of Eubank, Ky.
