American Royal Pedigreed Gilt Show: Official Release

KANSAS CITY–Junior swine exhibitors gathered in Kansas City, Mo., to compete for top honors in the American Royal Pedigreed Gilt Show. The judge, Bruce Engnell of Macomb, Ill., sorted the entries on Oct. 27. Dylan Cain, of Chariton, Iowa, exhibited the Champion Pedigreed Gilt, born April 1. His gilt was first named Champion Hampshire Gilt.

The Champion Berkshire Gilt, exhibited by Maddie Fugate of Mahomet, Ill., was born April 3. Claire Richards of Bedford, Ind., exhibited the Reserve Champion Berkshire Gilt, born April 4.

The Champion Chester Gilt was exhibited by Claire Richards and was born May 3. Reserve champion honors went to Ethan Norman of Chandler, Okla., with his gilt born March 15.

Dylan Cain of Chariton, Iowa, exhibited the Champion Hampshire Gilt. This gilt was born on April 1. Claiming the Reserve Champion Hampshire Gilt title was Blake Goss of Canute, Okla., with a gilt born on April 4.

The Champion Landrace Gilt, exhibited by Quentin Dieckmann of Greensburg, Ind., was born April 15. Reserve champion honors went to Jacob Berry of Roachdale, Ind., and his gilt born on April 28.

The Champion Yorkshire Gilt was born March 20, and was exhibited by Maddie Fugate. Derek Warren of Glenwood, Iowa, exhibited the Reserve Champion Yorkshire Gilt, born March 24.

The American Royal Association is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that has been a Kansas City tradition since 1899.
