Maine-Anjou youth exhibitors vie for top honors at American Royal: Official Release

The Grand Champion MaineTainer Female, Hadley’s Whiskey Girl, was shown by Kale Spengler of Durant, Iowa.

The Reserve Champion MaineTainer Female, K&A Daiquiri 176Y, was shown by Jordan Crall of Albia, Iowa.

The Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female was BNWZ Calypso 28Y, exhibited by Brandon Olivier of Harper, Kan.

The Reserve Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female, BPF Lucky Lady 586Y, was exhibited by Halley Becking of Florence, S.D.

KANSAS CITY—On Nov. 2, the American Royal hosted the junior Maine-Anjou and MaineTainer shows. Cody Lowderman of Macomb, Ill., evaluated the cattle that participated in these events.

The Grand Champion MaineTainer Female went to the Junior Yearling Champion Female, Hadley’s Whiskey Girl, a March 2, 2011 heifer, owned by Kale Spengler of Durant, Iowa. The Reserve Champion MaineTainer Female was also the Reserve Junior Yearling Champion Female, K&A Daiquiri 176Y, a Feb. 19, 2011 heifer, owned by Jordan Crall of Albia, Iowa.

Junior Calf Champion Female was MS Winnie 201Z, born Jan. 1, 2012, exhibited by Chancee Clark of Romance, Ark. The Reserve Calf Champion Female was Miss Maine Aim Suize Q, a March 10 calf, and shown by Cody Duhaime (McCullough) of Allerton, Iowa.

Sarah Armitage of McLoud, Okla., exhibited the Senior Calf Champion Female with 802Y, born Oct. 2, 2011.

RCC Pretty Please 101Y, born on May 1, 2011, and shown by Chancee Clark of Romance, Ark., was Summer Champion Female. DNC Miss Brandi Y71, born May 5, 2011, was named Reserve Summer Champion Female, and was exhibited by Chyann Smith of Storm Lake, Iowa.

Maine-Anjou Junior Show Results

The Grand Champion Maine-Anjou Female was the Junior Yearling Champion, BNWZ Calypso 28Y, born on March 2, 2011, and exhibited by Brandon Olivier of Harper, Kan. Reserve Grand Champion Female honors went to the Reserve Junior Yearling Champion Female, BPF Lucky Lady 586Y exhibited by Halley Becking of Florence, S.D. She is a Feb. 4, 2011 female.

The Junior Calf Champion was KBSC Carmen 202Z, born Jan. 10, 2012, and exhibited by Breanna Gradert of Sibley, Iowa. Reserve Junior Calf Champion Female went to Stephanie Kersten of Gretna, Neb., with SKSK Miss Bedazzle, a Jan. 13 calf.

BK Boak Yenna 1017, born Oct. 10, 2011, was named Senior Calf Champion Female. She was shown by Addison Dupree of Clinton, Okla. MWW Buggs 32Y, born Nov. 5, 2011, and exhibited by Jessika Calhoon of Farmington, Ark., was awarded Reserve Senior Calf Champion Female.

Summer Champion Female was JACW Lacey 27Y, a June 1, 2011 heifer, was exhibited by Katlyn Ahrens of West Point, Neb. Reserve Champion Summer Female was Minn Maggie 20Y, born May 9, 2011, was shown by Madison Kay Loschke of Carbondale, Kan.
