Junior exhibitors compete in Junior Simmental Show

KANSAS CITY — Over 30 exhibitors walked through the ring in Hale Arena during the Percentage Simmental and Simmental Junior Shows on Nov. 3, and Nov. 4, respectively. Shane Bedwell of Fort Collins, Colo., sorted through the entries.

 

Simmental Purebred Heifer Show

 

HS Steelin’ Your Breath, shown by Kylee Sigmon of Berryville, Ark., was named the Grand Champion Purebred Heifer. She is sired by SVF Steel Force S701. She was first named Champion Purebred Senior Heifer. The Reserve Grand Champion Heifer, SVJ She’s The Dream Y728, is owned by Anna Maulsby of College Station, Texas. Her sire is SVJ Wild Fires Dream. She was named Champion Purebred Junior Heifer earlier in the day.

 

Aubreys Am Blaze Lyla 9Z, led by Miranda Raithel of Falls City, Neb., was awarded Champion Purebred Junior Heifer Calf. Her sire is CNS Pays To Dream T759. SVJ Lizzie’s Dream Z45, shown by Sydney Maulsby of College Station, Texas was awarded reserve in the same division. She is sired by SVF/NJC Built Right N48.

 

Champion Senior Heifer Calf, HPF Miss Justice Y096 was exhibited by Tandy Kidd of Berryville, Ark. Her sire is GWS Ebonys Trademark 6N. The reserve in the same division went to TK/FCC Essence, shown by Dulcie Fields of Mount Pleasant, Texas. Her sire is STCC Sheriff Taylor.

 

The Reserve Champion Junior Heifer was awarded to Nouvelle MS Sophie Y83, led by Camron Rogers of Elk City, Okla. Her sire is SS Ebonys Grandmaster.

 

GCC Joys Elegance 204Y, exhibited by Tanner Howey of Rockwall, Texas was awarded Reserve Champion Senior Heifer. She is sired by SVF Steel Force S701.

 

Simmental Percentage Heifer Show

 

The Overall Grand Champion Percentage Heifer, Ms Rosie Driver 735Y, a Jan. 22, 2011, calf, was exhibited by Mary Spencer of Gibbon, Neb. This female was first named Champion Percentage Senior Heifer. Jake Bloomberg of Berwick, Ill., exhibited the Overall Reserve Champion Percentage Heifer. This female, RWA Fantastic, was born Feb. 10, 2011, and was first named Reserve Champion Percentage Senior Heifer.

 

The Champion Percentage Junior Heifer Calf, RGRS/WLTR Excitement 4Z, was born Feb. 5, 2012 and exhibited by Kyla Walter of Elk City, Okla. The reserve honors went to SSST Sheza Goldmine 565Z, exhibited by Allie Standridge of Lindsay, Okla. This female was born May 15, 2012.

 

Austin Reitezenstein of Kersey, Colo, exhibited the Champion Percentage Senior Heifer Calf. This female, CRN Erica 175Y, was born Sept. 6, 2011. The Reserve Champion Senior Heifer Calf, WAGR Tallulah 190Y, was born Sept. 7, 2011, and was exhibited by Cagney Effling of Highmore, S.D.

 

An April 18, 2011, calf, RBS You’re Right, was exhibited by Tyler Espenscheid of Monroe, Iowa and took the title of Champion Percentage Junior Heifer. The reserve honors went to Kiersten Jass of Garner, Iowa and her April 4, 2011, calf, JBS 06Y.
