KANSAS CITY–Jim Husz of Maryville, Mo., sorted through 74 entries to select his champions during the 2012 American Royal Gelbvieh and Balancer show held Saturday, Oct. 27, in Kansas City, Mo.

Emily Griffiths exhibited the Grand Champion Gelbvieh Female, 3G Cowgirl Zesta 204Z, that was first named junior heifer calf champion. The Reserve Grand Champion Gelbvieh Female, CIRS 122TY, also named champion junior yearling, was exhibited by Chandler Ladner of Argonia, Kan.

The Grand Champion Gelbvieh Bull, CIRS 2326Z, also named spring bull calf champion, was exhibited by Circle S Ranch and owned by John Shearer of Canton, Kan. After first receiving junior bull calf champion honors, CIRS 2207Z, also shown by Shearer, was awarded the Reserve Champion Gelbvieh Bull title.

In the Balancer female show, BABR 1015Y ET, shown by Britney Volek of Highmore, S.D., received grand champion honors after first winning the junior yearling division. Reserve Champion Balancer Female went to VER Miss Prissy 247Y exhibited by Ledoux Ranch of Agenda, Kan. VER Miss Prissy 247Y also received senior heifer calf champion honors.

Emily Griffiths of Kendallville, Ind., exhibited the Grand Champion Balancer Bull, 3G Yarborough 186Y, that was first selected senior bull calf champion. Ledoux Ranch of Agenda, Kan., exhibited the Reserve Champion Balancer Bull, who first received junior bull calf champion honors, AHL Redemption 237 Z.

Emily Griffiths was named Premier Exhibitor and John Shearer of Circle S Ranch was named Premier Breeder.
