Charolais Breeders Classic brings breeders to American Royal: Official Release

KANSAS CITY — More than 30 Charolais breeders from across the nation joined together at the American Royal to participate in the Royal Breeders Charolais Bull Classic and Ten Grand Sale on Nov. 2.

The Grand Champion Bull of the Charolais Breeders Classic was WDZ CC Kade 1107 P. This bull was sired by Gerrard Montezuma 6T and born Sept. 11, 2011. Zehnder Cattle of Stanchfield, Minn., Coudron Charolais of Monticello, Minn., and Wild Indian Acres of House Springs, Mo., nominated this bull for the Classic. The Grand Champion received $5,000.

The Reserve Grand Champion Bull, Big Creek Game Changer 192 PET, was nominated by Big Creek Charolais of Harrisonville, Mo. This bull was sired by D R Revelation 467 and born Sept. 24, 2011. He receieved $2,500.

J&A Charolais of Sparta, Wis., nominated the third overall bull. JAB Drink In My Hand 157 PLD, sired by LT Bluegrass 4017 P, was born Dec. 7, 2011 and won $1,500.

The Ten Grand Sale sold 23 lots and averaged $4,000 per animal. Davis Charolais of DeSoto, Mo., purchased Lot 9, Wild Indian Acres Ms Ace, for $7,500. This female was sired by 1A Mr Sandman by Ace 809 P and was born Nov. 1, 2011. James Sparks of LaMonte, Mo., purchased WDZ Wia Brooklyn 224 PET for $6,000. This female was sired by Keys Ten-Acious 166S and born on April 15, 2012.

UC Miss Crocus 52 PET, an April 10, 2012 heifer, was sired by TR Mr Fire Water 5792R ET and sold to Evelyn Gay Duhon of Sulphur, La., for $5,500.

A NWMSU Platinum 4108-sired female sold to Brad Ewing of Cincinnati, Iowa, for $5,000. This female, NWMSU Wonder Girl 259, was born Feb. 10, 2012. Lot 19, JAB Miss Macy 210 Polled, sold to JVS Cattle for $4,900. This TR Mr Fire Water 5792R ET female was born March 15, 2012.

BLB-DL Gunner’s Legacy 827, sired by Link Mr 650 Gunner Wind 317 P and born Nov. 13, 2008, sold to Daniel Sparkman of Ennis, Texas. This cow sold for $6,250.
