Champions named in Braunvieh Show

KANSAS CITY–Exhibitors from 10 states competed for top honors during the American Royal’s Braunvieh Show held Saturday, Oct. 27 in Kansas City, Mo. Jim Husz, Maryville, Mo., evaluated the 42 head shown in the percentage and fullblood/purebred divisions.

Wolken Cornerstone Cattle Ranch, Mendenhall, Miss., exhibited the Grand Champion Percentage Bull, WCCR Vision 2019. Reserve Grand Champion Percentage Bull went to DSB Ringo Starr, owned by Eric Armintrout, Peculiar, Mo., and shown by Darkside Braunvieh.

Don Hankins, Willard, Mo., exhibited the Grand Champion Fullblood/Purebred Bull, OCC Book-Em Danno 66-Z. His bull was also named Junior Bull Calf Champion. WCCR Old Spice 1117, shown by Wolken Cornerstone Cattle Ranch was named Reserve Grand Champion Fullblood/Purebred Bull after first winning the senior bull calf division.

Grand Champion Percentage Female honors went to DSB Ally shown by Taylor Nelson from Ceresco, Neb. Wandering Hills Yes M’am 4901, also shown by Nelson, was named Reserve Grand Champion Percentage Female.

Wolken Cornerstone Cattle Ranch exhibited the Grand Champion Fullblood/Purebred Female, WCCR Amber Wave 2010, who also received Junior Heifer Calf Champion honors. Reserve Grand Champion Fullblood/Purebred Female went to DIA N Greta 22Y owned by Anna Gaddy, Mt. Vernon, Mo., and exhibited by Don Hankins. She was also named champion in the junior heifer division.

Junior Heifer Division:
Reserve Champion: MISS RCB Y154 Clove ET owned by Madison Schlake, Fairbury, Neb., and shown by Rock Creek Braunvieh.
