American Royal Market Steer Show: Official Results

Baylor Bonham of Newcastle, Okla., exhibited the Grand Champion Steer.

 

Sydney Schnoor of Chowchilla, Calif., showed the Reserve Grand Champion Steer.

KANSAS CITY–Junior beef exhibitors from 16 states competed for top honors during the market steer and showmanship contests held Saturday, Oct. 27, in Hale Arena at the American Royal Complex in Kansas City, Mo.

Baylor Bonham of Newcastle, Okla., exhibited the Grand Champion Steer. Before receiving top honors, the 1,333-pound animal was first named Champion Division II Steer. Sydney Schnoor of Chowchilla, Calif., showed the Reserve Grand Champion Steer, which weighed in at 1,321 pounds. Schnoor’s steer first received Reserve Division II honors, placing behind the champion.

In Division I, Nathan Hilburn of Denver City, Texas, exhibited the winning steer with his 1,226-pound entry. Following Hilburn, Rachel Vogt from Kennard, Neb., was named Reserve Division I Steer with her 1,254-pound animal.

Madison Clark of Covington, Ohio, was named Division III Champion with her 1,373-pound steer. Reserve Champion Division III honors went to Alex Alliger from Gowrie, Iowa, and his 1,394-pound class 11 winner.

 

Junior Market Beef Showmanship

Nolan Flesner of Colbert, Ga., evaluated the market beef showmen on Friday, Oct. 26, and selected Alyssa Deporter of Eaton, Colo., as the champion showman. The Reserve Champion Showman was Macie Ott of Norwalk, Ohio.

Division I Showmanship (9-12 years of age):

Champion: Elizabeth Heintz of Lakeview, Ohio

Reserve: Ashlyn Laffey of Maryville, Mo.

Division II Showmanhsip (13-16 years of age):

            Champion: Alyssa Deporter of Eaton, Colo.

Reserve: Ross Siegenthaler of Mineral Point, Wis.

Division III Showmanship (17-20 years of age):

            Champion: Macie Ott of Norwalk, Ohio

Reserve: Nathan Hilburn of Denver City, Texas
