Sporting Clays is a form of target shooting designed to simulate the unpredictability of field shooting. Unique stations are set up through the course that teams will visit in order. Roots to Rising Chefs is a unique Farm to Table collaboration between the Shawnee Mission School District’s Broadmoor Bistro culinary program and the American Royal\, designed to give students a deeper understanding of the journey from farm to table. \nBefore stepping into the kitchen\, students from the Broadmoor Bistro culinary program will visit a local farm to gain firsthand insight into the care\, stewardship\, and agricultural practices involved in raising the chickens featured in the evening’s menu. Through this immersive experience\, they will connect directly with local producers\, learn the story behind their ingredients\, and develop a greater appreciation for the role agriculture plays in our food system. \nGuests attending this Farm to Table collaboration\, will enjoy a thoughtfully prepared meal while hearing about the students’ experiences on the farm and how those lessons influenced their perspective in the kitchen.
