Notes about Judging

• All judging applications must be submitted online via the KCBS portal. Emails and phone calls will not be accepted as applications.

• • • Judges for the Open Contest do not need to be certified, although it is encouraged.  At the link below, there will a button marked “Register as Guest” that non-KCBS members may use to apply.

• Invitational judges will receive an invitation to judge through their KCBS portal.  2023 judges will have first right of refusal to judge again in 2024.
• Filling out an application does not guarantee you a spot judging or as a table captain.  Confirmations will be sent out starting in June.
• Please only fill out one application per person, per event.

• • • You may apply to judge more than one contest (for example, both the Open Meats and the Invitational).
      • Please note the Open Sides and Kids Que take place at the same time on Saturday, November 2.  You may apply to only one of those contests.
