Grab your boots and posse and get out of the office! Come on down to the American Royal for some boot-scootin' fun! You’re invited to join us again for the Eighth Annual Boots, Barbecue and Business Luncheon at the American Royal on Wednesday, September 8th. Oklahoma Joes will be providing their award winning barbeque and Larry Moore from Channel 9 will be the master of ceremonies. 2010 Governors Program

Lots of exciting ideas and changes are in the works here at the American Royal. Current, future, and potential Governors have a lot to look forward to for our upcoming 2010 Season. New benefits will include: Individual Reserved Seating plan this year to streamline assignment and make attending our events as simple and enjoyable as possible. Two weekends of Rodeo this year which also means an extra weekend of concerts! All those that sign up to become a Governor prior to July 1st will receive free admission to the 3rd Annual Wine & Brew Ha-Ha and be entered in a raffle for a chance to win a meet and greet with Kansas University basketball coach, Bill Self at the Business Luncheon on September 8th. This will also include an autographed book and picture! The opportunity to judge the 31st American Royal Barbecue Open Contest and the Sauce Contest. This membership provides admission into 22 thrilling ticketed events!

Our children’s Book Writing contest is encourages writing and literacy among the youth of the Greater Kansas City. The winner of this contest will be the featured Author for our 2011 Reading Round Up Program book as well as having their book sent for publishing. Learn More >>

The American Royal and the BOTAR Organization are pleased to continue the American Royal Photography Contest for students K-12. Photography will be juried in age divisions and displayed at the American Royal during the 2010 season! Learn More >>

BOTAR Presidents' Scholarship

Since 1949, the BOTAR (Belles of the American Royal) Organization has supported the American Royal Association by fostering community interest, providing volunteer services, raising funds and enabling growth and development.

The Presidents’ Scholarship is awarded to an applicant who best represents the spirit of volunteerism as determined by representatives of the BOTAR Organization. More Information>>

National Anthem Singers

With nearly 30 events between September 3 and November 21, there are several opportunities for people in the community to showcase their talent. Individuals and groups can apply, at any age. To apply, send in an audio and/or video tape (cd’s are preferred) singing the National Anthem.

All tapes must be postmarked by Friday, August 27. If we decide to schedule you for an event, we will contact you by Friday, September 3 by 5:00 p.m. (CST) Please send tapes to:
